Erica Henry is the Vice President, News for CNN/U.S. In this role, she oversees management of the Newsgathering Southeast regional team of field producers and talent who are covering and breaking news for CNN.
Previously, she served as Southeast Region Newsgathering Director, where she oversaw the day-to-day operations for CNN’s Atlanta and Miami bureaus. She has contributed to the network’s coverage on stories ranging from the COVID-19 pandemic, to the 2022 and 2020 Georgia Senate run-off elections and the summer of protests following the death of George Floyd. Henry also contributed to breaking news coverage of Hurricanes Ivan, Harvey, Irma and Maria, and the mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, FL.
She previously served as an assignment editor, assignment manager and managing editor for CNN across the Atlanta and Los Angeles bureaus. Before joining CNN, she worked at NBC and MSNBC, having started at the network as an NBC Page.
Henry currently serves as the chair of the Diversity Pledge Institute, and she serves as co-chair for the Duke Black Alumni Atlanta Chapter.
Henry earned her Bachelor of Arts in History from Duke University.
