Glossier You Rêve and Glossier You Doux entered the scene today after the brand’s press packages last week created a lot of buzz on the internet, specifically among beauty editors and influencers who decided to unbox on TikTok. Glossier’s two new skin scents are variations of its wildly popular You perfume. As someone who wears Glossier You regularly, I’m excited to add these to my fragrance rotation.
Like the original, which was one of our best perfume picks due to its simplicity and affordability, Rêve and Doux are a part of the Impressions of You collection and are also skin scent enhancers, meaning they’ll smell slightly different on each person. Because of this, they can be layered on top of one another since they all share the same base of musk and warming notes. The short of it is that they’re almost like an older sister or cousin of the original since they are all the same at the core.
This decadent fragrance is dreamy and initially smells like vanilla or birthday cake with the addition of buttercream, but then it rounds itself out with the mild and fruity scents of plum butter and toasted almond. It's fun and inviting — perhaps cooler and trendier than Glossier You. A spritz of Rêve will last all day, even into a party with friends.
This balanced fragrance has notes of palo santo, frankincense and sweet violet, all wrapped up in a woodsy myrhh. It's Glossier You's sophisticated older sister. She's mature, reserved and loves splurging on cashmere sweaters. The formula smells clean and feels light, like a less offensive and much more affordable version of Le Labo's Santal 33.
