The new Beats Studio Buds Plus are some of the best wireless earbuds you can get. With a comfortable design, active noise cancellation and long battery life, we were impressed with these buds during our Beats Studio Buds Plus review earlier this month, and now there’s reason to get excited over them once again: Two new Cosmic colorways are being added to the lineup.
Where to buy the new Beats Studio Buds Plus colors
Beats says the new Cosmic Silver and Cosmic Pink Studio Buds Plus will launch on Thursday, Sept. 7. Both will be available from Apple and Target, while Cosmic Silver will also launch at Amazon, Best Buy and Walmart.
It doesn’t look like Beats will be opening preorders for the new colors, so if you want to grab a pair, you’ll want to mark Sept. 7 on your calendar.
Say hello to Cosmic Silver and Cosmic Pink
The new designs add a shiny, futuristic look to the earbuds that traditionally boast matte colors. They’re the boldest options in the Studio Buds Plus lineup — well, aside from the optional Nothing-inspired transparent finish.
I’m partial to the Cosmic Silver finish since it’s a nice breath of fresh air from traditional white or gray earbuds, but the Cosmic Pink is also a bold look and could be perfect for those still on a high from the Barbie-bombarded summer we’ve all experienced.
To help out with the launch, Beats is partnering with internet personality and businesswoman Emma Chamberlain to show off the two new colors in some futuristic promo videos. In addition, Beats is also partnering with Olive & June to release new polish shades and press-on designs inspired by “the hardware and sound experience” of the new buds. They’ll be available starting Sept. 6.
The same great buds as before
Other than the new colors, the Studio Buds Plus aren’t changing. Beats includes the same updated drivers with cleaner bass and lower distortion, improved active noise cancellation and upgraded transparency for clearer conversations with others.
Battery life still sits at six hours with ANC on and nine hours with it off, there’s a USB-C port on the bottom for charging and there’s still no wireless charging. The Studio Buds Plus are also packed with a bunch of smart features that make them ideal for both iOS and Android users; quick pair, multi-device pairing and Find My device features are available on both platforms, while plenty of Apple-centric features like “Hey Siri” and spatial audio are also on board.
