Cyclone Idai made landfall in southern Africa on March 14, affecting Mozambique, Zimbabwe and parts of Malawi.
UN officials estimate that severe flooding triggered by the cyclone has affected 1.5 million people in Mozambique and Malawi.
Initial assessments in the three countries suggested hundreds of people were killed, the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies said.
But President Filipe Nyusi of Mozambique said the death toll may be much higher.
