
In 2018, Siya Kolisi became the first ever black captain of the Springboks

He led the side out for the first time at Ellis Park, Johannesburg, against England.

The Springboks were victorious that day and went on to win the series 2-1.

Kolisi made his first appearance for South African Super Rugby franchise the Stormers in 2012.

The flanker has gone on to captain the side and is entering his eighth season with the club.

He was named man of the match on his international debut when South Africa defeated Scotland in Nelspruit on June 2013.

Last year, he captained the Springboks to their first victory in New Zealand since 2009.

At the end of 2018, he represented invitational side the Barbarians at Twickenham, defeating Argentina 38-35.
